We are super excited about the new playground for the Nickerson Garden community in the Watts section of Los Angeles (rendering below). The playground had a ribbon cutting opening in August 2023 that included a rocking performance by The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Kids have had it rough the past few years and need safe and supportive environments. Coaching youth soccer, basketball and baseball in St. Petersburg, FL and New London, CT has helped many kids learn the power of teamwork, the importance of showing up, and the joy of being outside without a phone!
Habitat for Humanity is a leader in providing affordable homeownership for families around the world. In Southeastern Connecticut we are providing detailed research and analysis, helping evaluate property and build design to increase the number of houses that can be completed in 2024 and the future. In October 2023 TK was elected to the HFH Board and excited to contribute to more houses for more families.
A hobby is repurposing materials -- part of our philosophy to leave the world better than we found it. Below are photos of tables built from a solid maple bunk bed abandoned on the side of the road. Some of the tables went to Habitat, the rest claimed within the TK family. We design and build with material repurposing a core goal.
